Ecohydrology Group

The Ecohydrology Research Group was formed in Fall 2003. Our research is focused on surface water and shallow groundwater interactions and on the interrelationships between surface water, shallow groundwater, and ecosystem structure and function in wetland, river, estuary, and near-shore marine ecosystems. We approach all problems with ecosystem perspectives, but use tools typical to both ecology and hydrogeology to answer questions. Our ultimate interest lies in the development and implemention of whole-system approaches to river and wetland ecosystem functional assessment, restoration, and management.
