Geoscience Education
Graduate studies in Geoscience Education involve research on significant geological
problems coupled with development of materials for teaching others about geological
phenomena and paradigms. At USF we have a strong commitment to improving geoscience
education nationwide. This effort is led by Dr. Len Vacher (2004 winner of the Neil
Miner Award for excellence in geoscience education) and Dr. Jeffrey Ryan. Graduate
student opportunities in Geoscience education at USF include development of methods
for using the latest computer technologies for enhancing learning, and bringing
Quantitative Literacy into Geology Curricula.
