Tenure-track faculty position in Environmental/Groundwater Geochemistry

The Department of Geology at the University of South Florida seeks an environmental/groundwater geochemist to expand existing programs in geochemistry, hydrogeology, hydrogeophysics, and ecohydrology. The successful candidate will have research and teaching interests in the broadly defined areas of environmental geochemistry and groundwater systems, and will become an active member of the Global Change and Computational Research Clusters in the newly formed School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics within the College of Arts and Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, mentor graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in aqueous, groundwater, and/or environmental geochemistry, and interact constructively with the USF and international research communities. The position, to be filled at the Assistant Professor level, is a 9 month tenure-track appointment, beginning August, 2010. Salary is negotiable. A Ph.D. in geology or similar field is required. ABDs considered, but candidate must have Ph.D. conferred by time of appointment.
